The town of Woodstock, New Brunswick is located in the heart of the St. John River Valley, at two key junctions, Highway 95 and the Trans-Canada Highway. Woodstock is full of wonderful Victorian architecture, from its many fine 19th Century homes, to its beautiful churches and civic buildings. Woodstock, incorporated in 1856, is the oldest incorporated town in New Brunswick.

A.E. Howell Wildlife Conservation Center and Spruce Acres Refuge
A.E. Howell Wildlife Conservation Center and Spruce Acres Refuge, .5 mi. w. off US 1 on Lycette Rd., consists of more than 64 acres featuring 5.5 miles of marked walking trails. The refuge is home to Baxter, a 550-pound black bear, Dolly the cougar, and Bell, reputedly the oldest living bald eagle in Maine. On tours by trained guides, visitors also may see a variety of wild animals, including hawks, owls, moose, deer and coyotes. An environmental learning center and a library are available. Lt. Gordon Manuel Wildlife Management Area
Lt. Gordon Manuel Wildlife Management Area, 4.4 mi. s. on US 1, 1.3 mi. w. on Hodgdon Mills Rd., then 2.1 mi. s. on Horseback Rd. to 63 Station Hill Rd., is a recreation area offering more than 6,400 acres of woodlands and wetlands ideal for fishing, canoeing, hiking, bird-watching and cross-country skiing. Old Carleton County Court House
Old Carleton County Court House is 2 km (1.2 mi.) n. on Hwy. 560 via Hwy. 103 at 19 Court St. The court house is restored to its mid-1800s appearance. Woodstock Walking Tour
The Carleton County Historical Society in partnership with the Greater Woodstock Tourism Partnership established a self guided walking tour for interested parties to learn about the Victorian homes in the area.
