The Town of Truro is located in Colchester County on the Salmon River east of the head of Cobequid Bay in central Nova Scotia. Situated near the Atlantic Ocean, Truro enjoys a temperate climate with pleasant summers, mild winters, and picturesque autumns.The town was first settled in 1761 by Presbyterians of predominantly Ulster Scottish origin who came from Ireland via New England. It is named after the city of Truro in Cornwall, England. Truro is home to one of Canada's last remaining successful textile mills, Stanfield's Limited. Today Truro is known as the "Hub of Nova Scotia".

City of Halifax
Halifax was the first British town in Canada and was founded in the mid 1700s. Today the area is home to a diverse mix of people. You will find charming fishing villages, farming communities and the largest city in Atlantic Canada. Cobequid Lookout & Trail
In the Mi'Kmaq language, Cobequid means "place of rushing waters". This tidal bore phenomenon is unique to the Bay of Fundy with Cobequid Bay and Salmon River creating this spectacular display. As the salt tide water races up the narrow neck of the Bay, the river appears to flow backwards. Take the 10 mile trail that winds through this unique and fascinating area.

Colchester Historical Society Museum
This museum features the social and natural history of Colchester County, from antiquity to present day. We feature a special exhibit annually and also offer genealogical resources such as individual family and community histories and photographs. Local history and genealogy publications are for sale. Little White Schoolhouse Museum
Located on the Nova Scotia Community College campus, this original Riverton School commemorates schoolhouses in Nova Scotia from the mid-1800s to the 1950s. The Museum contains books and artifacts from the era of the one-room schoolhouse. The Provincial records from Normal College 1855–1946 are available; research requests are accepted. Students and teachers from one-room schoolhouses are invited to register as Little White Schoolhouse alumni. Admission is free; donations are welcome. Mastodon Ridge
Open since 1996, Mastodon Ridge has grown to become a fun, smartly designed, and intelligent environment that appeals to both young and old. N.S. Provincial Exhibition Raceway
Harness racing at its finest along with simulcast wagering! Dining and lounge facilities are offered in our glass-enclosed grandstand along with ample parking. Organery

Tidal Bore
A unique site to see; a wave of water that moves upstream against the current. There are many popular spots for watching the tidal bore in the Truro area such as Salmon River outside Truro. Open year-round.

Victoria Park
This 1,000-acre natural park with hiking trails, band shell, outdoor pool, water spray park, playground, tennis courts, picnic area, washrooms and baseball field. A winding stream flows through a deep gorge, where there are two picturesque waterfalls: Joe Howe Falls and Waddell Falls. Great exercise is to climb Jacob’s Ladder (about 200 steps) to the top of a rocky Park Road and Brunswick Street gorge. Admission is free; open April 1 – November 30.
